"Do not drive away those who call upon their Lord morning and evening, seeking His face. Nothing of their reckoning falls upon you."
This verse is in the same field as al-Kahf 18/28 (waṣbir nafsaka maʿa'lladhīna yadʿūna rabbahum bi'l-ghadāti wa'l-ʿashiyy) and it was treated there. The two verses can be compared:
| Place | The command |
|---|---|
| al-Kahf 18/28 | Waṣbir nafsaka maʿahum — keep yourself patiently with them |
| al-Anʿām 6/52 | Wa lā taṭrudi'lladhīna… — do not drive them away |
The same group, one with a positive and one with a negative command. And the same matter was treated in ʿAbasa. In all three places the measure is the same: not the standing of the one addressed, but the direction he faces.
مَا عَلَيْكَ مِنْ حِسَابِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍ — and the ground: the transfer of responsibility for the reckoning. This distinction was treated at al-Raʿd 13/40 (innamā ʿalayka'l-balāghu wa ʿalayna'l-ḥisāb); I rely on that treatment.
