إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ حَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِمْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ · وَلَوْ جَآءَتْهُمْ كُلُّ ءَايَةٍ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
"Those against whom the word of your Lord has come true will not believe · even if every sign should come to them — until they see the painful punishment."
The sentence is a repetition of the thirty-third verse: kadhālika ḥaqqat kalimatu rabbika ʿala'lladhīna fasaqū annahum lā yuʾminūn.

I record this as my own reading, and its ground is the subject of the two verses: in the twentieth verse a sign was demanded; the ninety-seventh verse says that the coming of every kind of sign would not change the outcome either. And the same question was treated at al-Raʿd 13/31 (wa law anna qurʾānan suyyirat bihi'l-jibāl) — there the sentence broke off before it was completed. In Yūnus the sentence is completed.
حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ — and this expression is word for word the same as the prayer in the eighty-eighth verse. It was recorded above; I do not repeat it.
